Dr. Canlas is a native of San Angelo, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Angelo State University and his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed one year of medicine in Primary Podiatrics and Medicine at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Canlas resumed his residency training in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he completed three years of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery under the direction of Steven Spinner, D.P.M.

Dr. Canlas specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle disorders. He is trained in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, lower extremity trauma, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Canlas is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Canlas leads a very active lifestyle, which includes hiking, running, biking, scuba diving, golf, and traveling. This active lifestyle reflects his treatment goals of restoration of function and quality of life.
